Description and Application Details
The Helmerich International Fellowships, sponsored by the Retina Research Foundation, are awarded annually by the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) to ophthalmologists from developing countries who are committed to enhancing ophthalmic education and patient care in their home countries. Honoring the public service leadership of Mr. W. H. Helmerich III, the fellowships are designed to provide advanced subspecialty training to ophthalmologists who will be in a position to transmit knowledge by resident-specialists in training and provide exemplary ophthalmic care to the people of their home country.
Two Helmerich International Fellowships will be awarded each year to young ophthalmologists from developing countries that have completed ophthalmology resident-specialist training.
