The ICO Guidelines for Diabetic Eye Care include recommendations for screening and evaluating people with diabetes for potentially blinding eye problems and provide instructions for treating those with diabetic retinopathy and other ocular complications of diabetes.
They address the needs and requirements for the following levels of service:
The Guidelines are designed to be a working document and will be updated on an ongoing basis. Translation and adaption for non-commercial local use is encouraged, but please credit the ICO for text and the ICO/Singapore Eye Research Institute for photographs. If adapting, please note the copyright information in the Word version of the Guidelines. The ICO asks that a copy of any translated or adapted documents be sent to info@icoph.org for ICO records. We welcome any feedback, comments, or suggestions.
