ICO Center for Advocacy

Acting as the unified voice of ophthalmology, the ICO continues to build and lead a World Alliance for Sight to preserve and restore vision for people around the world, with the aim of improving quality of life and advancing global development. The ICO works to leverage member networks, knowledge and influence to promote eye health and position it as a top priority on the global policy agenda.

The ICO collaborates with ophthalmology societies and organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders to increase support for eye care and prevention of vision loss worldwide. The ICO helps to define and share information to enhance appropriate eye care. We support the establishment of a universal high standard of quality for ophthalmic professional services to improve access to affordable, quality eye care for all people worldwide.
