It is with great sadness that the ICO acknowledges the passing of Prof. G O H Naumann, a Past-President of the International Council of Ophthalmology, and Professor Emeritus at the University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Erlangen, Germany. As a past ICO President and through his visionary leadership, he advanced the science and practice of ophthalmology and continues to impact generations of ophthalmologists from around the world. Among his many legacies, both the ICO G.O.H. Naumann Award for Leadership in Global Eye Care and the ICO Ophthalmic Pathology Award will be awarded in his honor at our World Ophthalmology Congress next year. The ICO sends our condolences to Prof. Naumann’s family. He will be greatly missed.
