It is possible to apply for taking both examinations on the same day. However, not all examinations centers can accommodate taking more than one examination, so please contact the ICO examination office for further information. If you consulted with the ICO examination office regarding the examination center of your choice and were encouraged to apply for both examinations, please select this option while registering for your examinations.

Both examination results are assessed separately, and the candidates obtain results for each examination. Both examinations are part of the pathway towards Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology designation FICO and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow designation FRCS (Ophth) (Glasg).
